ARCHITECTURE: BROWNSTONE PENTHOUSE ON 122ND

Harlem Bespoke: We finally got a good look at the townhouse penthouse addition at 131 West 122nd Street this past week and this solution for more space always has a fantastic end result. This mix of old and new architecture respects the past but adds an update in a non-intrusive manner.  Some developers demolish existing homes to build higher but we always prefer going this route. Renovations plans were posted back in 2015 for this Mount Morris Park residence: LINK

  1. I thought vertical extensions weren't allowed to be seen from the street in historic districts in order to preserve the integrity of the row of houses.
