BESPOKE: THE ANTHORA COFFEE CUP REVISITED

Harlem Bespoke:  The Urban Garden Center has a little sister coffee shop on Park Avenue  by 118th Street and we recently noticed something familiar from the past while ordering some java to go over the weekend.  Those who have been around the city for well over 15 years or more will remember the Anthora cup design by Leslie Block that had been around since 1963 or so.  Before Starbucks and hipster coffee shops took over the city, most New Yorkers got their daily brew every morning out of these paper cups at the local diner, bodega or street merchant.  We haven't seen one in real life in a long time and those who want a bit of nostalgia should grab one to go at UGC Eats at 1674 Park Avenue while shopping for Christmas trees at Urban Garden Center down the block.  Ceramic versions are also on sale at the cafe for those who want something more reusable.
