☞ BESPOKE: Tillett and Rauscher in Harlem

Tillett and Rauscher, the textile gurus that have helped decorate the White House in the Kennedy years, have moved their showroom to Harlem. Located at 529 Manhattan Avenue and the corner of West 122nd Street, this prestigious fabric salon apparently has taken advantage of the scenic neighborhood, the close proximity to the A,B,C,D express train on 125th Street and obvious affordable rents. Could this be a trend for more design houses in the future? All interior photos by Wendy Goodman via New York Magazine. Townhouse photo by Ulysses. tillettandrascher.com

  1. I'm confused...I am fairly certain that both DD and Leslie have passed away...how are these the same people that decorated the White House for the Kennedy's?

I am certainly very familiar with the Tillett legacy, who is Rauscher?

  2. The Tillet is Seth, son of lady Tillet. And Rauscher is his lovely wife, Nicole, who has brought her own talent and charm to the business. The textile work continues, sharing space with a new art gallery, AS IF. Check it out!
