☞ EAT: Charles' Country Pan Fried Chicken
We checked out the new Charles' Country Pan Fried Chicken a couple of weeks back and were surprised to see two restaurants side by side. The original one (last photo), which was known as Charles Southern Style Chicken, was closed after a traffic accident temporarily put it out of commission. The new restaurant, called Charles' Country Pan Fried Chicken, is open for business and has the crisp, golden birds on display in the window (top two photos). The two stores are basically side by side, and it seems the former might be remodeling to maybe add an addition to the newer one. For those not in the know, Mr. Charles Gabriel is probably the most famous chef in Manhattan when Southern fried birds are concerned. Read more about the other places Charles has cooked up his famous dish in our previous post: LINK.
Check out Charles Country Pan Fried Chicken at 2839 FDB/8th Avenue, between West 151st and West 152nd Street. Tel. (212) 281-1800. The nearest subways are the 3 train at 148th Street or the A,B,C,D at 145th. Photos by Ulysses
