☞ INTRODUCING: The Red Rooster Opening 2010
Harlem resident celebrity chef Marcus Samuelsson has just confirmed via Twitter that his first Harlem restaurant called the Red Rooster will open later this year. Apparently the name is an homage to a famous speakeasy that was around in the early 1900's. No word yet on when or more importantly, where in Harlem so stay tuned. Well - I know there are lots of amazing places available for him. For instance - my building has been looking for a tenant for some time and it is restaurant ready.
ReplyDelete300 west 145th Street.
try 116th and fifth!
ReplyDeleteLenox Avenue in the teens is the obvious choice!
ReplyDeleteI agree, Lenox Ave.
ReplyDelete2167 Frederick Douglass Boulevard where Tribal spears use to be. Great location
ReplyDeleteThe Savoy Ballroom. Seriously. It's across the street from the original Red Rooster and it still looks like a speakeasy. They probably want a lot of space but an old Harlem feel so this would be perfect. Abyssinian should hand it over to the restaurant partners and it would be amazing.
ReplyDeleteFDB -- take your pick...
ReplyDeleteThink the suggestion should be for the Renaissance Ballroom. It would take a lot of tax write-offs and full cooperation of the church for that to happen.

ReplyDeleteThere's a store-front at the southwest corner of 120th and Frederick Douglass that has been under renovation for many months (work had slowed for a while, but has picked up recently). Permits on the door say renovations are for turning space into a restaurant. My bet us that this is where it will be.
