☞ WALK: What's Up with 2272 FDB?

A reader recently asked about the blue plywood-walled corner lot at 2272 FDB and 122nd Street. The open lot has been empty for at least forty years now it seemed to have a major condo project in place since Jeffery Cole Architects had this rendering on their site: LINK. We have been walking by this lot for over five years now and nothing has been happening. Upon closer inspection of the work permits posted on the plywood fence, it seems that they have all expired within the past year but the intent was to have the ground floor and infrastructure established. This building is so close to the rest of the new condos on the north end of all South Harlem developments but the location has not proven strong enough for the developer to get more financing to move forward with this project. Let's hope something works out soon so that one more empty lot disappears in the nabe. Photo by Ulysses. The nearest subway to this location is the A,B,C,D train at 125th Street.
