☞ ARCHITECTURE: 305-307 West 141st Street

The twin gothic style townhouses on 141st Street between Edgecombe Avenue and FDB/8th Avenue are a couple of standouts on the block with different end uses. Number 307 (left building) is currently a three family residential towhouse and number 305 currently houses the Church of the Meek. Interestingly enough, it is the church that went for more modern brick siding and also decided to block the light out on the lower floors by walling off the windows. The estimate building date for this handsome pair apparently was in the 1930's but the copper roof tops make them seem much older. The nearest subway to this location is the A,B,C,D at 145th Street. 1. It's always disheartening when buildings of such distinction are mutilated thusly.
