☞ ARCHITECTURE: Contextual on Morningside
The other successful contextual condo of the tall-and-narrow variety, can be found at 18 Morningside Avenue and 116th Street. The Morningside Park Condominiums were finished in 2007 and the units sold out pretty quickly. The entire nine floor structure looks more like an updated version of an old loft building in downtown Soho. The facade's cast iron work along with the terracotta-like ornamentation (click on image to enlarge) are a nice update to what one usually finds on an older building. This type of architecture might take a little extra time to design but it seems a lot of folks appreciate anything new that can blend in with the neighborhood. Photo by Ulysses.

18 Morningside is a beautiful new addition to the Harlem neighborhood. Also, Loft124 on 124th btwn Lenox and ACP has an amazing interior with arched brick ceilings. 50 West 127th btwn Lenox and 5th is also one of the better additions to the neighborhood.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite condo building in Harlem. First time I passed this place I loved it. Wasn't cheap though, the PH apartment was available for over $1,000 sq. ft.
ReplyDeleteAnybody know what the sale price was?

Dear @ Anon 11:14 presumably Halstead broker, this is the second time (that I've noticed) you plugging your buildings. We heard you the first go around. And yes, they are beautiful. May I recommend you use Craigslist for free advertising.
ReplyDeleteNot a broker...I don't even think that there are any units for sale at those buildings.
ReplyDeleteHey guys, when it starts getting off topic and the comments start to plug another development, we are going to have to edit it out in the future.
