Parsons School of Design alumnus with a BFA in fashion, who has worked in the menswear industry for several years. The old Lundy's sign at the corner storefront of St. Nicholas Avenue and 147th Street have many passerby's questioning what was there originally. Was it a club, lounge, diner or speakeasy? A quick web search comes up with nothing so maybe one of the readers out there have some background on this sign from the past? The closest subways to this location are the A,B,C,D at 145th Street. Lundy's was one of seven bars located on Saint Nicholas Avenue between 145th and 149th streets. Sadly the only remaining watering hole is The Saint Nick Pub.
Yes it was a bar. I used to live above it. Mr. Lundy the owner was a wonderful man. I remember he had missing fingers and always brought ice cream for the neighborhood kids. Great memories
