☞ WALK: Lundy's at West 147th Street

The old Lundy's sign at the corner storefront of St. Nicholas Avenue and 147th Street have many passerby's questioning what was there originally. Was it a club, lounge, diner or speakeasy? A quick web search comes up with nothing so maybe one of the readers out there have some background on this sign from the past? The closest subways to this location are the A,B,C,D at 145th Street. 1. Lundy's was one of seven bars located on Saint Nicholas Avenue between 145th and 149th streets. Sadly the only remaining watering hole is The Saint Nick Pub.

  2. Yes it was a bar. I used to live above it. Mr. Lundy the owner was a wonderful man. I remember he had missing fingers and always brought ice cream for the neighborhood kids. Great memories

  4. 'Mr Charle's'as we called him lived with my family for many years at 602 St Nicholas Avenue.Charles Lundy owned Lundy's for a few years. The food was absolutely delicious. Steaks, chops and cheesecake was on the menu. Always smelled delicious. I loved going there with my family just to say hello. Mr Charles was a most kind and generous man and my family loved him.He is always in our thoughts.
