☞ ARCHITECTURE: The Convent on Convent

The new nunnery at Convent Avenue and the corner of West 150th Street in Hamilton Heights has recently wrapped up construction.   We weren't really sure what was going on for the site since not much was happening until the building started to rise dramatically this past spring: LINK.  As reported in the past, the sisters' original habitat at West 113th Street in Morningside Heights was sold to Columbia University and the nuns have since used the proceeds of that sale for the new construction uptown. Of note in this particular design is the corner tower with the trellis garden at top and the well proportioned side building that adjoins an existing lower structure quite nicely (lower photo).
