☞ REVIVE: The MGP Amphitheater Rises
Back in March of this year, the architectural firm Cooper, Robertson & Partners unveiled the design for the Marcus Garvey Park Amphitheater and now it looks like that project is making major progress. We recently walked by the section of the former Mount Morris Park that is located roughly around 122nd Street and 5th Avenue and notice that the frame of the amphitheater has risen to its full height. This updated design replaced an old 1969 bandshell and will seat 1,600 spectators when it eventually opens. Considering that the entire project just broke ground this past June, we would say that the crew is really making good time on completing the project sooner than later. Hopefully this will mean that summer 2011 will have some great concert in the park type of events. Check out other renderings in our original post: LINK
