☞ REVIVE: The Manhattanville Demo End Date

The long and tedious demolition of Manhattanville's former industrial area located west of Broadway looks like it will be ending relatively soon.  Signs that have gone up on the site recently mentioned that summer 2011 will be the end of this part of the process and maybe then some new buildings might start going up. Based on Columbia's Manhattanville website, the first phase of the campus (which spans an abbreviated section of 125th to 130th street) should be finished by 2015: LINK

  1. I don't know that I'd call it tedious exactly. It takes time to do proper demolition.

2015 does feel awfully optimistic right now.

  2. Bear in mind that 2015 is only the target for opening the first couple of "Phase I" buildings -- i.e. those for the Business School and SIPA.

Completion of the entire campus project will likely take another decade, from what I understand...
