☞ ARCHITECTURE: New High Bridge Pool Pavilion
The Parsons Design Workshop have designed new pool pavilions for the Highbridge Recreation Center so that indoor activities like art classes, fitness and basketball can function year round and children have a place to go on rainy summer days. High Bridge Park's current indoor recreational center gets used as a large locker room in the summertime and displaces all other activities so the group of graduate students have designed a separate outdoor space (click on images to enlarge). In order to get the outdoor facility built this summer in Washington Heights, the group is actively seeking donations for materials and will build the project themselves. The design group's Kickstarter page has raised over $6,250 in funds through 95 backers and will need a total of $15,000 by the June 1st deadline. Check out a video of the project, more renderings and get tax-deductible donation information on the following site: LINK. Small donations of $25, $50 and $100 have been helping this project move along so the average person can make this community endeavor happen.
