☞ WALK: The East 103rd Garden Renovation
Yesterday was the big date for the Disney-sponsored renovations at the East 103rd Street community garden and we were able to get the above photos from the end of the day. Most of the playground and the garden plots on the east end of the park appear to have been completed (middle two photos) along with the initial planting of trees, shrubs and flowering plants. The great lawn on the west end still looked like a muddy patch of land (lower photo) but it will probably look that way until everything grows in. One missing element of the original design that did not finish up during this first round seems to be a garden shed that had been planned out in the initial design phase. Check out our original post for all the details on the revival of this large plot located by Park Avenue: LINK
