Something pretty sweet is arriving at one of the renovated vacant stores at 133rd and FDB/8th Avenue and it already looks like a classic. A reader sent in the tip for the corner store that has yet to open but will surely be a treat for those living at this part of Central Harlem. More photos of the new shop and interior after the jump.
After seeing a frozen yogurt shop open up just a block away on Lenox Avenue in the past month, it appears that Central Harlem will be seeing more frozen offerings now that FDB will be getting a good old fashion ice cream shop . A classic striped awning and facade decorate some interesting paneled windows out front of the new Boulevard Ice shop (great name BTW) which also takes the retro aesthetic into the interior. Old school neon appears to be making a comeback these days as shown in the lower photo and some nice bead board paneling around the bar complements the overall look. We couldn't find much else about the new business but it looks just about ready to open. Any tips?
Looks cool!
ReplyDeleteCharming!
ReplyDeleteNice addition, I wish them success
ReplyDeleteChill Berry has been doing a good business. What do these places do during the winter, though?
ReplyDeleteSell ice cream. Just not as much of it.
ReplyDeleteIf they're smart, they'll sell take home sizes for holiday parties and what have you.
Any word on opening date? Maybe I can have a cone this weekend instead of beer at Harlem Tavern.
