☞ EAT: Something Old and New at Red Rooster
Marcus Samuelsson's modern day Red Rooster will be holding a "Chicken and Champagne" night on Mondays that gives a nod to the original Red Rooster. The lower photo shows what was left of the former lounge at 138th and ACP/7th Avenue which actually had a "Chitlins and Champagne" party when the speakseasy was around decades ago. The modern day event occurs this Monday, July 18th, 6:00 PM-10:30 PM at the Lenox and 126th Street location of the new restaurant, includes $10-$12 champagne drinks, chicken & waffle bites, curried chitlins alongside other offerings for $4 dollars each.
