☞ REMEMBER: Porches on 129th Street c. 1941
There are not many consecutive rows of Harlem townhouses with porches outside of Astor Row but a little known section on East 129th Street appears to have a similar aesthetic. This section just east of Park Avenue can bee seen in the above 1941 photo that shows all of houses intact along with a gas station or garage on the corner. The lower photo reveals the same view of the block today but the corner lot now is a development site of some sort. All of these unique townhouses along with the majority of their porches still appear to be in place but they now seem to be in poor condition. Archival photo via NYPL
