☞ DRINK: Lenox Social's Classic Facade

Lounges sometimes are a flashy affair and we did not know what to expect when the Lenox Social announced it would be arriving on the corner of 126th Street and Lenox Avenue.  Number 321 Lenox has had plywood up since last fall and a reader sent in the lower photo this morning which shows the new wood paneled doors arriving out front.  Our Bespoke reader also noted the new establishment is probably going for the more classic look at the facade like the Red Rooster (or Chez Lucienne next door).  There's always a decision to be made with new businesses on weather to go classic or modern and it appears many businesses are moving towards classic in Harlem.

  2. Love it .. hoping for a good "gastropub" type place with moderate food and good drinks/beer.

  3. Let the complaints begin! "Looks bad!" "They won't make it!" "Too expensive!" "They don't know the community!"

I kind of touched on this in my post about Nectar. This was even faster than normal!

  4. Nice joinery work, I am confident this will really uplift the block when Lenox Social is finally unveiled. Upper Lenox is coming along very nicely.

  6. I expect this to do well as it has all the boxes checked, great location, central Harlem, 2/3 train, literally across the street from Red Rooster and Sylvia’s with their overflowing customer base, more of a neighborhood place, familiar and welcoming to visitors from downtown. Upper Lenox is establishing itself as a destination thanks to the mainstays Chez Lucienne, Sylvia’s and Red Rooster.

  7. I googled "Lenox Social" and found something saying it would have a long wooden bar and 15-20 craft beers on tap and moderate prices. Sounds about right!

  8. This looks like it's going to be a wonderful addition to the neighborhood.... any idea when it's set to open?

  9. Must be opening soon! I saw a line of local applicants outside yesterday interviewing for positions. I also caught a glimpse of the inside which looks amazing. Reclaimed wood and tin ceilings. Brick Walls. Very "cozy".

  10. I am super psyched. I work just a block away and this seems like the perfect place to let some steam out after work. This is quite the gathering of lounges/bars/restaurants coming together around 125th and Lenox.I couldn't be happier.I surely hope they are able to balance the classy with the price.I know it's difficult to do in this city and and this market. But I am rooting for them.

  12. Can't wait!! I've been wishing for a nice place to stop for a good glass of wine on the way home from work. Red Rooster is WAY too sceney for my tastes.
