☞ READ: A New Building for Central Park North?

Curbed reported yesterday that the EDC is now looking for developers for the most south west corner of Central Park North which is currently the location of a gas station.  This parcel right at the start of the FDB corridor will be able to have 82,000 square feet of space built on it but the usual stipulation of mixed income, retail and community space will also be in place.  Applications are apparently due in August according to the post: LINK

  3. agreed, no more affordable housing.

ON central Park, housing should be subsidized by others (taxpayers, other renters or buyers) for special interest?

    I think not.

  4. That is very interesting. For years, people never wanted to consider any place above 110th... actually above 96th but now they are considering it. And providing the community that lives here , or at least giving low income folks a shot of a chance at ownership is not right because low-income people should not live on CPN? The CPN that was shun for years as not even being considered part of Manhattan proper? Affordable housing is just a ridiculous concept because Manhattan (or anything approaching Central Park) should be solely for the rich and them alone?

  5. Word had it that Trump tried to buy it some 10 years ago, to put up an expensive condo and hotel, which certainly would have given a financial boost years before now. But everything happens in its time, and its exciting to see who's/what's time is now. I'm sure it will be appropos.
