☞ DWELL: 30 West 120th Sold to Samuelsson
The former home of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar at 30 West 120th Street sold for $2.5 million back in 2011, went on the market for $2.895 million in 2012 and it has now been sold to non other than celebrity chef Marcus Samuelsson: LINK. This single-family brownstone has one of the most high end, contextual renovations to be seen in Harlem and faces Marcus Garvey Park which garnered one of 2011's record sales. At 18-foot-wide, the townhouse is not quite the golden 20-footer but is in a notable location adjacent to the Mount Morris Park Historic District. More details can be found at the broker site: LINK

Fabulous home, for half of what it would cost downtown.
ReplyDeleteGood to see a local entrepreneur committed to Harlem, what a wonderful home and location, and well earned.
ReplyDeleteI would argue this sold for 1/3 of a similar property downtown:
ReplyDelete- new renovation
- marquee block
- directly on a great park
- low taxes
Show me that below 96th street and I will show you a $9 million price tag...
It's fabulous, and I'm happy to see that Chef Samuelsson was the buyer.
