☞ REMEMBER: The Lafayette Theatre
The former Lafayette Theatre on ACP/7th Avenue has now been totally demolished and we discovered an archival photo form 1973 which shows what building looked like before drastic alterations came about. A church had taken over the building at 131st Street and altered it decades later in what was considered modern for the time. Now the entire block is being demolished to reportedly make way for some sort of residential development that will have the church contained within. The last corner of the building complex still stands today but is currently being dismantled as the lower photo shows. Check out what the theater originally looked like in our past post: LINK
