☞ EAT: Soft Opening at Harlem Shake
Harlem Shake at 124th and Lenox Avenue had a soft opening today and will officially be open on Thursday, May 16th. We were treated to the retro 50s burger joint this afternoon and was amazed at the vintage vibe to the interior which included hex tile floors, tin ceiling and classic diner furnishings. All of the burgers are made with LaFrieda beef and prices are nicely set at around $7-$8 to start. Details such as the cardboard cartons that the food was served up in also added to the appeal of Harlem Shake which will now basically become the local Lenox Avenue diner that has been lacking for so long.
Everything is new here and the staff is still in training so a little patience will probably be needed on visits this week but the establishment will definitely be a gem for the neighborhood in the years to come. Harlem Shake is one of those rare places that will work for taking the family out, group gatherings and even a nostalgic, romantic date: www.HarlemShakeNYC.com

Welcome to the neighborhood Harlem Shake. I'll try you this WE !
ReplyDeleteNice to see options like salad and Veggie Burgers on the menu.
ReplyDeleteThis is going to be a great addition to Lenox Ave.
Yes, we had a discussion with the owner on vegetarian options since readers have been bringing this point up. Definitely options available that are meatless.
ReplyDeleteGreat location. Everyone's favorite food. It should do very well unless food/service is lacking
ReplyDeleteLove the overhead menu sign, like a movie marquee. This retro style and awning complements the magnificent brownstones of Lenox Avenue and the green stools are right out of a Norman Rockwell painting. The best photo has to be of the chocolate shake, looks really good. Love it.
ReplyDeleteIt looks great. I predict great success for them.
