BESPOKE: SAMUELSSON ANNOUNCES HARLEM FESTIVAL

A press conference announcing Chef Marcus Samuelsson's planned Harlem food festival received a major boost from politicians this afternoon at the Red Rooster on Lenox Avenue.  Mayor DeBlasio alongside President Bill Clinton made appearances and gave their support to the cultural event that will be called Harlem Eat Up!  This food and music festival will launch next year on May 15th and will last for three consecutive days.  The renewed Harlem spirit was supported by President Clinton who is the Honory Chair of Harlem Eat Up! and notably has his office on 125th Street.  Mayor DeBlasio gave a great speech and discussed how Harlem became so culturally rich all those decades ago because people from other places moved into the neighborhood and how that is happening once again. It was announced also that profits from Harlem Eat Up! will also go to Citymeals-On-Wheels which is the chief beneficiary for the festival. Chef Samuelsson is probably one of the most influential figures of Harlem 2.0 and has once again done something extraordinary in the transformation of the neighborhood uptown.  More details on the upcoming Harlem festival can be found at the official site: www.HarlemEatup.com
