REVIVE: RETAINING WALL AT WHOLE FOODS SITE

It looks like one of the retaining walls at the foundation of the Whole Foods site on Lenox and 125th Street has been put into place but the new structure still has to be braced to keep it stable.  Some speculate that it has taken quite some time to finish the base of the building since the location sits right above the express subway lines on Lenox.  Back in fall of 2012, the notable supermarket announced that 2015 will be the opening date but this just might be at the tail end of the year based on how quickly things are moving along: LINK

  1. Great to see progress here. I recall the promise of this new Whole Foods being part of the marketing materials when I was hunting for an apartment nearby...this was in the spring of 2010! Whether this opens in 2015 or 2016, it'll be great for the neighborhood.

  2. Also may be delayed because when you walk by on any given day they appear to have one earth mover and about four guys working. Slowly.

  3. Based on the work so far, late 2016 is more likely for completion.

  4. Similar to the Bed,Bath&Beyond site which took forever to create it's foundation but now it's moving fairly quickly!!
