REVIVE: PROGRESS AT EAST HARLEM PS85
The shuttered old schoolhouse at the corner of East 117th and 1st Avenue looks like it is now well on its way to getting rehabilitated. PS85 will eventually be a 90-unit residential building but activity on the site has been pretty slow in the past year or so. Now scaffolding has covered most of the century old building and everything looks like it has been gutted within. Original plans had the entire structure preserved with a modern addition on top but now the new rendering will compromised some of the cornice elements. See both sketches in our past post: LINK
