REMEMBER: THE FRATERNITY ON STRIVERS ROW

We walked by 203 West 138th Street today and realized that the Strivers Row townhouse that was recently up on the market for $1.95 million is the same one shown in the famous photo by James Vanderzee. The Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity had been located at this address just west of 7th Avenue back in the 1920s and one can still see the holes made from the original plaque screws by doorway. This single-family home has an interior that is beautifully preserved and records now show that the new owner paid a little less at $1.79 million for the historic property.  For more photos and details on the former frat house, check out Streeteasy: LINK
