REMEMBER: NEW YORK'S OLD SUBWAY LIGHT GLOBES

Harlem Bespoke:  We were in midtown recently and noticed a charming window display at Tiffany's which featured the iconic subway station entrance that everyone is familiar with.  The two light globes are a familiar sight to most seeking the entrance to the city's a mass transit but these might be a thing of the past since one uptown passage is apparently getting rid of the historic detail.
Currently the 110th Street station at the corner of FDB is closed for renovations and the plywood fence out front has the above images posted.  This minimalist new design has a modern digital map out front but somehow lacks a bit of soul.  Old New York is slowly disappearing but hopefully not all of the stations will have this upgrade in the future since having the map module mounted adjacent to the old entrance would have been just as efficient and probably cost a lot less to have installed.  Our humble opinion would be that renovating and updating the technology of what is actually down inside the subway station should be the priority.
