Harlem Bespoke: The above photo shows the intersection of 125th Street and 3rd Avenue taken about 5 years ago and we received a tip that the view has recently changed dramatically. A lot of new construction is being planned for Harlem's mains street which means that many of the older buildings will be lost in the process.
This photo was taken yesterday and shows that the block has completely been demolished. Some might remember that eminent domain was used to seize the buildings from business owners back in 2010 for a massive $700 million development project that would transform the area in to a media and cultural center. DOB permits posted online only mention the demolition so it is unclear if all the plans from years ago will actually go through. Our guess would be that things have changed a lot since then since the a clinic was built on the 126th Street side which can be seen at the left of the lower image and does not correlate with the original blueprint: LINK
