☞ EAT: Mobay
On 125th Street's busling north side, one will find the charming sanctuary of Mobay, featuring updated southern cooking with a generous Caribbean accent. Along with the jerk chicken dishes, there's an Escovisched fish recipe on the menu that makes this place a standout from other island restaurants. Open for lunch, brunch and dinner, with live jazz on some nights. 17 West 125th Street between 5th Avenue and Lenox Avenue. Tel.(212) 876-9300. Take the 2,3 or 4,5,6 train to 125th Street.
