☞ ARCHITECTURE: 133 West 123rd Street
The curious modern house on West 123rd Street between Lenox and ACP/7th Avenue always caught our attention and we found an old article on the couple that built the new construction on the former abandoned lot. Somehow this modest design doesn't look so self indulgent as some of the other modern townhouses that have popped up in the city over the past decade. The architect and his wife moved from Brooklyn's Clinton Hill back in 2003 and bought the lot for $150K to build their new house. Read more about the house and get a view of the interior in this NY Times article:LINK. Photo by Ulysses

There's more about the owner/architect (and additional pictures of his house) on his website - keithstrandarchitect.com
ReplyDeleteNice Times article - and wonderful website given by 'Beating Upwind'. The site shows every room in the townhouse. Thank you
ReplyDeleteI visited this home, one creative feature is the atrium space above the dining table, the chandelier hangs on a very long chain.
ReplyDeleteLooks disjointed and inharmonious!
