☞ INTRODUCING: 311 West 141st Housing

Affordable housing is a hot topic uptown and most of the recent developments that have jump started in 2010 have not consisted of luxury developments. We last reviewed the open lot on 311 West 141st Street, between Edgecombe and FDB, back in March and the foundation work was just being laid. Throughout the month of May, the facade of the building would be mostly complete and covered in mesh and scaffolding (lower photo) until all was revealed this past week. Out this year's new affordable buildings, this one finished the quickest but actually looks pretty decent in its design. There's a nice symmetrical, staggered proportion to the building and the mixed yellow brick is contextual with its surroundings. Well done! Photos by Ulysses

  1. This building did turn out nice. Unfortunate that they did not include tree pits on the sidewalk outside this building. Solid concrete.

Does anyone know how someone can apply for these apartments? I haven't seen a notice yet.
