☞ REVIVE: 342 West 123rd Street Condos

There's a stalled six-story condo site at 342 West 123rd Street that had us wondering what exactly is going on with this construction? Although most of the buildings on this block just west of Manhattan Avenue are the standard four-story brownstones, the developer bought this lot sometimes in 2001 and started to build to the maximum height permitted for the zoning of the side Street. Stop work orders had been slapped on the construction site as far back as 2007 and nothing seems to have been happening ever since. Does anyone know any more information on this building? 1. Continuing work after revocation of building permits. A stop work order was served and stands in place now.
There was an unusually high number of complaints, presumably from locals, some highly specious in my opinion. Perhaps some sort of neighborhood hostility. This happened with a few other sites I heard about.

  2. What is in the adjacent space? Given the position of windows on the new structure and the fire escapes on the opposite building, it would appear that it is expected to remain empty...

  3. The adjacent space is a private garage entrance.
