☞ BESPOKE: Lenox Green Malls Extended North

There was a lot of construction in the center traffic islands around 124th Street and Lenox this past June (top two photos) and the final plan has now been revealed. The last photo shows the Green Malls in the Mount Morris Park Historic District which include benches and all sorts of flora. The third photo down shows that there are now new, open mall plots being filled with dirt on the said construction site from 124th to 126th Street. Most of upper Broadway in West Harlem have many these avenue green spaces so it's nice to see the city investing in them in Central Harlem. Those trees will sure soften the look of some of the harsher, new architecture seen in the second photo. All photos by Ulysses

  4. A reader just mentioned there are tree medians further up Lenox. The one's further up the block are not the wide plots that are being set up now. Wider plots have more of a garden feel to them since they provide space for bushes and various types of trees to coexist. The tree medians further north on Lenox look like the typical sidewalk type of tree planting.
