☞ EAT: Following up with Lee Lee's Bakery
Reader's have been mentioning the changes at Lee Lee's Bakery on 118th Street (just east of FDB/8th Avenue) and we wanted to follow up with the story. As folks remember, Mr. Lee (lower photo) called it quits for about two weeks since business slowed down drastically. Some blamed it on the loss of customer traffic from a clinic that closed down the street or bad business planning. Anyways, the bakery is back better than ever with breakfast specials from 7:30 PM-11:00 AM and now taje online mail orders for their famous rugelach ($9 per dozen). So stop by on your way to the A train and pick up something to go or send a Harlem care package of arguably the best rugelach in the city. Read more in DNAinfo: LINK. walked by there this morning and saw that they had a sandwich board advertising iced coffee, good move i think.
ReplyDeleteWe passed by a couple of weeks ago to buy some rugelach and were surprised to see breakfast food for sale. So we stopped and had our coffee and egg sandwiches. Saved the rugelach for later. Good to see business has picked up.
ReplyDeleteLast time I was there, there was a counterwoman, and a special. Buy 12 apricot rugelach and get 3 free chocolate ones. We're suckers so even though we wanted to buy only 6 rugelach we left with 15.
ReplyDeleteAlso a website and a business card. these are all good signs. I hope that business turns around for Mr. Lee.
