☞ DWELL: 208 Lenox Avenue Sold in December

After sale signs went up on the half-finished shell at 208 Lenox Avenue last September, it only took about 3 months for the landmark townhouse in the Mount Morris Park Historic District to move off the market. The 3,882 square foot, 19.9 foot wide, 5-floor building located between 120th and 121st Street had just been listed on the market for $975K after some major facade work had finished up.  It looks like the former owner got the certificate of non harassment in place since the exterior work and interior demolition had just been completed but they might have run out of funds to finish the job up. Nothing remains on the inside and there's still some cast iron ornaments to replace at the front of the building so it looks like the new owner who purchased it for $825K will have to invest quite a bit get it up and going again. Once all is said and done, this townhouse should pretty much match up with its twin next door.

  2. I’m sorry they didn’t finish it but they saved it from total collapse. That building was in pretty dire shape.
