☞ READ: Floridita's New Site with Issues
So the rumors (that we didn't think were true) that Floridita would share the warehouse space with Dinosaur Bar-B-Que are now confirmed based on a Columbia Spectator article published today: LINK. The north half of the building at 12th Avenue and 125th Street has been empty but Dinosaur had moved into the other half last year. An agreement was finally made out between Columbia and the Manhattanville Cuban restaurant that has been around for decades but now there appears to be another impasse. Apparently there's asbestos in the old building and the restaurant claims that Columbia mislead them on the condition of the new space and that they do not have the funds for abatement. So there's a lot of finger pointing once more and the restaurant that's been closed for the past year seems to be once more in limbo. This corner of the building doesn't really face 125th and is almost in the back end of the viaduct so it's an interesting location to be at.
