☞ DWELL: 236 East 111th Previously in Contract

We noticed recently that the church-turned-townhouse at 236 East 111th Street recently went into contract in January but now the unit in question has been removed completely from the market as of yesterday.  The entire house was up for sale for $2.495 million but there was also an option to buy one of the two duplex apartments and it looks like the top floor amenities won out at the end.  The condo in question was gut renovated at a pretty hight taste level but the real scene stealer is the first floor unit which has all the gothic windows in place: LINK.  The top floor duplex has been on and off the market since 2008 with a starting price of $2.4 million and the last asking price was set at $995K.  Status updates in reference to the ground floor unit which was going for $1.495 million and had been pulled off the market without any previous contract indication back in December are also lacking at this point.

  1. I'm amazed they couldn't sell the place at 995K. Comparable units in the neighborhood are twice that amount. Unless it has already sold, or they are going to re-list it at a higher price. The roof deck looks amazing. I am a little confused though about the sq. ft. It is listed at 2,600. How much of that is the roof deck?
