☞ DWELL: 177 West 126th Street Brownstone
The brownstone that just finished a restoration last year at 177 West 126th Street has appeared on the market just a couple of weeks ago. We had been following the facade renovations for this townhouse just around the corner from ACP/7th Avenue in past posts since the front of the building had the brownstone resurfaced and a new substantial cast balustrade handrail appeared on the stoop soon after. This 4-family, 6 bedroom, 4 bath home has 3,300 square foot of space with a bit of original detail but the major downside is the front view which consist of the back end of the ACP government building. Other than that, the express trains on 125th Street is only a block away but will the brownstone move for the initial asking price of $1.8 million? Check out our past post for some of the facade renovation details on this restored building: LINK

Where can you get the window border things from? Sanou's Mum, you are good with the terminology! The fireplace mantle is really nice.
ReplyDeleteChris, I honestly don’t know what those fancy window surrounds are called but I would kill for them. I imagine they are original to the house.
ReplyDeleteChris, the windows appear to have the original internal folding slatted shutters. Like so many theses shutters they appear to be folded back in their open position, screwed down and painted over, never to be seen again. The framing around the window openings appears original also. This framing can be reproduced with a wooden milled molding and mitered around the top of the window opening and attached to the wall. The top detail seen here is harder to peproduce.
