☞ DWELL: 8 West 127th Sold in August

Number 8 West 127th Street went into contract this past April for the asking price of $1.7 million and records now show that the building's sale is complete. This 5-story restored townhouse pretty much is rental grade but apparently an investor was happy with what they saw on the inside.  More photos after the jump.

The 4-family, 19 foot wide, 6,563 square foot, Central Harlem building just west of Fifth Avenue appeared on the market in January and went into contract within 3 months and now has finally sold for $1.6 million. There's not a lot of details on the inside but at least the infrastructure is updated.

  2. I question the constant usage of the term rental grade. When I showed the standard NY rental it came with oak or white melamine cabinets, laminate counter tops, and parquet floors. They don't come with things like working fireplaces, granite counters, recessed lighting, central air,or washer and dryers. The fire extinguisher is code. It is true that the walls need paint and crown molding but this is still luxury for NY.These are exactly the apartments that upper middle class people are moving to Harlem for. I have spent the last two years turning one of these rental grade buildings into the most opulent Victorian houses.

  3. Corey, I have always found the term rental grade to be a little snobbish. It is almost as if anything that doesn't have 'original details' is deemed rental grade!
