☞ REMEMBER: Watt-Pinkney Mansion c. 1910
A photo of the block of 139th Street looking west at 7th Avenue shows the breadth of the Watt-Pinkney estate back in 1910 before further development would bring on its demise. The apartment buildings in the top photo still line the avenue towards the west but the estate grounds facing today's Adam Clayton Powell Boulevard has a McDonald's on that particular corner and more prewar buildings now reside at the location of the forgotten Harlem mansion.
