☞ REVIVE: Fireplaces at a Central Harlem Reno

All of the old fireplace mantles were stripped from the Central Harlem brownstone renovation but now have returned since the interior has been covered in dry wall.  Each mantle had a different design to them and were stripped of layers of paint or varnish to reveal the warm wood underneath in the recent months.  These freshly finished architectural details will now be fitted into updated gas fireplaces that have been installed and will add a balance of old and new to the restored interior.  Check out what the fireplaces looked like previously from our past post: LINK

  1. Wonderful mantles, when the wood is revealed after being hidden under layers of paint for years, it has a certain patina that looks terrific. Also, the gas fireplaces are a good idea as they look natural and are very practical.
