☞ REMEMBER: At the Riverside Bend circa 1896

A photo from 1896 shows the bustling bend that would eventually lead to the viaduct at this corner of Manhatanville around 125th Street on Riverside Drive.  The viaduct itself would not be complete until 1900 but crowds still appeared at the rural section for some cycling and watching all the action.  Note also that a sweeper can be seen to the far right clearing out some leftovers from the carriages that have since passed through.
