☞ EAT: Harvist Arriving at the Kalahari
The restaurant opening within the Kalahari at 40 West 116th Street will be called Harvist according to a recent press release. Harvist will be part of the $21 million, 20,000 square foot cultural space at My Image Studios (MIST) and will be headed up by Executive Chef Cassandra Quinlan-Ashford. Folks should expect regional southern and Latino inspired dishes such as Anson Mills organic grits with grilled head-on prawns when the 130 indoor seat restaurant opens for dinner service sometimes in September. Lunch and brunch will soon follow and locals on West 116th Street should look out for the much needed additional outdoor seating that will also arrive at this corner of South Harlem. Can't wait!
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know when the cultural center itself will open? Excited for it!
ReplyDeleteThere is a Dwayne Wade book signing event there tomorrow. I think it opens for real later in the month.
DeleteWhy is it called HarVIST? What am I missing?
ReplyDeleteRhymes with MIST (My Image Studio Theater).
DeleteHmmmm. They might want to rethink that one. . .
DeleteSM, it saves on signage :)
ReplyDeleteThe one word restaurant name is new to Harlem, but not other neighborhoods.
ReplyDeleteLMAO Westsider that was damn funny. I am happy that it is not called Harlem something.
ReplyDeleteAt least they didn't call it Harlim Harvist.
ReplyDeleteLook forward to see the works of love from a great chef on the harvist menu
ReplyDelete+1 For Harlim Harvist. That is funny.
ReplyDeleteGourmet Harvist would have been better, but I suppose this is okay.
ReplyDeleteChris there are too many "Gourmet" places in the hood already. I live there and the name is fine by me. I look forward to the space being open and to seeing the events taking place.
