☞ DWELL: 273 Lenox Avenue Townhouse

Number 273 Lenox Avenue has just arrived on the market and is asking for an aspirational $2 million. This 17-foot-wide, single-family brownstone (painted cream) has had some major alteration to the parlor floor which is now a commercial space that is not very contextual.  There are some details on the interior but they all appear to be the heavily painted over variety which will need a lot of work to restore.

With that said, this townhouse is in the vicinity of the Mount Morris Park Historic District, by the express 125th Street station, across the street from the planned Whole Foods and a couple of blocks way from the Red Rooster.  Most Harlem sales over $2 million involved fully renovated buildings with upgraded systems and breathtaking original detail restorations so the asking might be a stretch for a house this size.  More detail on the broker site: LINK
