BESPOKE: FLAME KEEPERS HAT CLUB DEBUTS IN HARLEM

Harlem's first specialty men's hat shop has now debuted just in time for Fashion Week at 220 St. Nicholas Avenue and 121st Street.  We talked to owner Marc Williamson who has been in the millinery businesses for many years and saw that men in Harlem really wore their bespoke hats out and about.  Seeing an opportunity in the market to launch a better business, Mr. Williamson sought out the available commercial spaces uptown and found a great landlord who was supportive of the fashion forward establishment.  Hat prices average around $150 and are presented in a nice boutique environment with great modern touches in classic materials.  We especially like the contrasting stripe wood floor which blends new and old.  Then there are of course the great hats in every size, shape and colors.  Flame Keepers is definitely worth checking out and a fantastic addition to South Harlem!

  5. Does he have women's hats too or only men's? I'm fine with the occasional men's hat for fun but there's nothing like a well made women's hat.
