Amaretto Espresso Bar has opened on 8th Avenue just south of 115th Street. We walked by yesterday while in between appointments but did not have a chance to actually go in. A Bespoke reader mentioned they enjoyed the pastries at Amaretto and we are definitely glad more java joints are popping up in the neighborhood. Has anyone been yet?

Yes, we live next door and went yesterday. The coffee is very good and they have a nice selection of pastries and desserts that are made right there. The owner is argentinian and they sell alfajores, yummm
ReplyDeleteJust stopped by Amaretto and had a latte. They are serving an Italian espresso that is delicious (as is the barista; delicious, that is!). I rate all coffee against La Colombe; IMO the best that is out there - incredibly smooth. This espresso is as close to La Colombe as you'll find north of SoHo. A definite plus to the lower FDB corridor.
