READ: AT HOME WITH MARCUS SAMUELSSON

The Wall Street Journal gets up close and personal with Harlem's own Marcus Samelsson.  Chef Samuelsson's story spans three countries since the local celebrity was born in Ethiopia, raised in Sweden and finally established a home base in Harlem. There is also an interior photo of the townhouse that Kareem Abdul-Jabbar use to own in Mount Morris Park that the chef and his wife moved into after purchasing the brownstone over two years ago: LINK

For many decades, famous people from uptown tended to move out of Harlem but this article shows the opposite.  The allure that Harlem had almost a century ago to the new strivers is now happening once more and the love of the neighborhood really shows with so many of the newcomers.    Check out the full article with additional photos in the Journal: LINK
