INTRODUCING: FIRST LOOK AT LOFT 142

Loft 142 on Broadway at the corner of 142nd Street just opened up this weekend and we were able to swing by early evening last night to have a couple of drinks.  What is really nice about the interior space is that the ceilings are so high that a second floor loft has actually been build as an alternative seating area for the 60 seat gastro pub.  There is definitely a contemporary mix here which works and the television screens even blend in with the shelving units behind the bar.

We had a drink called the New Yorker for $12 and the mix of bourbon, yuzu with ginger had the right balance of sweet to dry notes.  Mojitos and margaritas go for $10 each which are a bit less than the specialty cocktails.  Food will not be served yet until the gas is on next week but those in Hamilton Heights should expect a bistro type menu but with a more global offering.  Brunch service will also launch right away once the kitchen is up and going.
