ARCHITECTURE: EAST HARLEM'S LOW RISE BLOCKS
With a major building boom happening in East Harlem these days, the open skyline might just eventually disappear like the neighborhood just further south which is known more for its residential high-rises. The corner of 3rd Avenue and East 109th Street also is also known as Stickball Hall of Fame Place which brings to mind images of the old neighborhood's history but the 4-story buildings on the block are now being torn down. Permits have it that 1987 3rd Avenue will be 9 floors when finished which will have some major views of housing projects close by. With that said, the market in Manhattan is demand and not-so-perfect vistas have been attracting higher end buyers: LINK
