DWELL: 221 WEST 137TH SOLD IN AUGUST
The abandoned brownstone at 221 West 137th Street arrived on the market at the end of 2015 for the asking of $2.4 million and has finally sold after a few price reductions. A new broker with more realistic expectations for the single-family home re-listed the townhouse for $2 million this past spring but that price was eventually reduced to $1.795 million by the time summer arrived. This actually worked for the 18-foot-wide residence since the property sold in the past couple of weeks and closed at $1.755 million. Lack of interior photos probably indicate a pretty rough situation inside and this is definitely one of the higher sales for a brownstone that needs a lot of work within Central Harlem.
